Brazil’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security has reported that 71.5 tons of drugs and contraband were seized as part of operation Horus in September.

Since April 2019, when efforts began, over 1.67 thousand tons of drugs and smuggled goods have been confiscated. The estimated loss to criminals adds up to BRL 6.7 billion.

The crackdown focuses on fighting crime along the 16.8 thousand kilometers of land borders in Brazil. More than 800 state and federal agents are participating in the efforts, which cover 14 states.
