The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul issued a warning on Sunday (Jun. 9) regarding potential rainfall in the state between the upcoming Friday (14), and the following Monday (17). According to the statement, both Civil Defense and the State Situation Room are monitoring the advance of a cold front.

According to the Situation Room, the forecast predicts accumulated rainfall between 50 and 120 millimeters (mm) in central and northwestern areas of Rio Grande do Sul and in the region of Missões, during the period.

In Porto Alegre, the metropolitan region, valleys, and mountains, the forecast indicates lower volumes, ranging between 45 and 75 mm.

"Another atmospheric block in central Brazil is expected to keep cold fronts and instabilities active in the southern region. The State Situation Room will continue monitoring and updating the hydro-meteorological conditions for the period," stated Civil Defense.
