President Michel Temer decided not to travel next week to Colombia, where he would take part in the signing of the peace agreement between Juan Manuel Santos's government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), slated for next Monday (Sep. 26). Temer chose to stay in Brazil to tackle "domestic issues."

The Brazilian government considers that Temer has already devoted enough diplomatic attention to the neighboring country on this issue, including a meeting with Santos on Tuesday (20) in New York, where they both attended the United Nations General Assembly. Moreover, during his speech at the meeting, the Brazilian president praised the agreement.

On October 3, Temer is slated to embark on a trip to Argentina at the invitation of President Mauricio Macri, and he is also expected to visit Paraguay and Uruguay during this trip. On the15 and 16, the Brazilian president is going to India to attended a BRICS meeting (economic bloc that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).
