Venezuela ambassador meets with Venezuelans in Brazil
Venezuela’s designated Ambassador to Brazil María Teresa Belandria, who represents the interim government of Juan Guaidó, spent Tuesday (Feb 12) attending meetings in Brasília. She talked to Venezuelans who live in Brazil, oppose the administration of Nicolás Maduro and back Guaidó in his position.
The ambassador met with Venezuelans at the TV Tower, one of Brasília’s top landmarks. The assembly was held as thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in Venezuela both for and against Maduro.
On Monday (11), Belandria met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Ernesto Araújo and worked out the details on the creation of a donation distribution center in Roraima. The facility is part of a cooperation spearheaded by an interministerial office in Brazil comprising the Ministries of Health and Defense, and will be installed in the coming days.
In her view, donations should focus on food, medication, transport, and logistics. In addition to Brazil, a number of countries have taken a favorable stance on providing humanitarian help for Venezuela—among them the US and Canada.
