Two of the three pre-election opinion polls whose results were released on Saturday (Oct 25) show presidential candidate and incumbent Dilma Rousseff ahead of her rival Aécio Neves. The survey from Datafolha, however, reports the two hopefuls as statistically tied.

According to pollster Vox Populi, Brazil's current President Dilma Rousseff, of the Workers' Party, has 54% of vote support, versus 46% for Aécio Neves, of the Brazilian Social Democracy Party. Results take into consideration valid voting intentions only—i.e., blank, spoiled and undecided not included. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points.

In the study conducted by Ibope, Rousseff has 53% of voting intentions, against Neves' 47%, counting valid votes only. The margin of error here is plus or minus two percentage points.
Datafolha's survey, in turn, indicates Dilma Rousseff with 52% and Aécio Neves with 48%, also only taking into consideration valid ballots.
Since the poll has a margin of error of two percentage points, the two candidates are technically tied, according to Datafolha.
