The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) has ordered the freezing of $400 million from companies and individuals implicated in the kickback scandal involving Petrobras. The measure, announced Wednesday (Mar. 18), is part of a cooperation agreement with the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office of Brazil which coordinates the investigation efforts known as Operation Car Wash.

Swiss authorities reported it located 300 accounts with transactions by former Petrobras directors and executives of implicated contractors. So far, $120 million have already been repatriated. Last week, Brazil's Attorney General's Office (AGU) announced the repatriation of $42 million from Switzerland that belonged to former Petrobras manager Pedro Barusco.

Recently, investigators also tracked deposits to former Petrobras Services director Renato Duque, arrested Monday (16) for transferring EUR 20 million from Switzerland to Monaco, in a likely attempt to hide the money.
