Approved 2016 budget with revised revenue forecast

The Joint Budget Committee of Congress approved Tuesday (Dec. 1) the report on revenues for the 2016 budget plan. To cover the expenses, the government expects to raise $374.50 billion.
Senator Acir Gurgacz, the committee's rapporteur, included the tax collected by the CPMF (Provisional Tax on Financial Transactions) in the revenue forecast, to be collected from September 2016, raising approximately $2.60 billion. The bill to bring back the old CPMF must be approved by two-rounds voting in both congressional houses, since the bill is a Proposed Amendment to the Constitution. After being approved, the bill has ninety days to come into force.
By approving the report on revenues—to cover the federal expenses for next year, including assistance and pension benefits, spending on education, health, agriculture, and public servers pay in addition to other expenses—16 rapporteurs from different sectors and Deputy Ricardo Barros, budget general-rapporteur, will be responsible for delivering the report on expenses, which must be approved by the committee and then by the Congress plenary.
