Joesley Batista hospitalized at Albert Einstein in São Paulo
Joesley Batista, one of the owners of JBS meatpacking giant, is at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo. The hospital's press office confirms he checked into the hospital but abided by the patient's request for privacy and gave no details on the reasons.
JBS's press office said Batista has been hospitalized since Tuesday (June 27) due to sciatic nerve pain. The date of his discharge is still open.
Batista has been in Brazil since June 11. He had left the country on a private jet after a recording he made of the conversation he had with President Michel Temer became public, and spent nearly a month in the United States.
The recording recently prompted the Prosecutor-General's Office to indict the president on corruption charges.
