In a statement made today (Oct. 28), President Michel Temer said that the transition to a government in Brazil starts Monday (29). “We’ll make a peaceful transition. The topics for the transition are practically organized in every government department. So the president-elect’s staff will be given all the data of the current administration—what has been done and what needs to be done—as soon as they make contact,” Temer said, after casting his vote in the second round of the presidential elections.

He said he believes the Brazilian people are “strongly connected with solidarity, friendship, fraternity, and will become even closer brothers after the elections are over.” On whether his Brazilian Democratic Movement Party, the MDB, would support Bolsonaro if he won the presidential race, the president said no decision has been made as yet.
