Bolsonaro to have busy international schedule as of March

President Jair Bolsonaro’s international schedule is expected to become hectic late in March and to continue its fast pace into the second half the year. In addition to the US, Chile, and Israel, trips have been scheduled to Japan and China. Topics on the agenda range from the crisis in Venezuela to bolstering economic and commercial ties.
This month, Bolsonaro should meet with US President Donald Trump, Chile’s Sebastián Piñera, and Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The trip to the US is expected to take place from March 18 to 22, with the Trump meeting confirmed for March 19, according to a note from the White House.
From the US, Bolsonaro flies to Chile, where he is to stay up to March 23. Next, he visits Israel, from March 31 to April 4. This is to return Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit in December for Bolsonaro’s inauguration ceremony. In January, the prime minister sent a group of military agents to help rescue victims of the Mina Córrego do Feijão dam collapse, in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais state.
In Japan, the president will attend the summit meeting of the G20 (a bloc made up of the world’s top 20 economies) in Osaka, from June 28 to 29. The trip to China is being planned and should take place in the second half of the year. Bolsonaro said he intends to expand business.
Bolsonaro also confirmed that China’s President Xi Jinping will come to Brazil for the 10th summit meeting of the Brics (Brazil, India, China, and South Africa). A date is yet to be fixed.
