Brazilian government congratulates Macron for reelection in France

Brazil reaffirms willingness to deepen ties that unite both countries

The Brazilian government issued on Monday (April 25) a note congratulating France`s President Emmanuel Macron, who was reelected on Sunday (April 24).

Macron has received 58.5 percent of the votes, beating extreme-right candidate Marine Le Pen, who had 41.5 percent of the votes.

"Brazil reaffirms its willingness to work for the deepening of the historic ties that unite both countries and bring mutual benefits to Brazilians and French people, and expresses its expectation of continuing to implement the broad bilateral agenda," reads the note sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the reelected president.
