Brazil’s House of Representatives approved Wednesday (Mar. 8), on International Women's Day, a bill that creates the seal "Woman-Friendly Company" to be granted to companies that adopt minimum percentages of hiring women victims of domestic violence.

The bill proposed by former representative Rosa Neide sets at two years the minimum validity of the seal, which can be continuously renewed for the same period, as long as the company proves the maintenance of the legal criteria and the regulation.

The norm also defines criteria and procedures for granting, renewing, and losing the seal, as well as its use and disclosure.

The bill will now be sent to the Senate and, if approved, it becomes law.
