A Rio de Janeiro court ruled the preventive arrest of 22-year-old Namibian boxer Jonas Junias, accused of attempting to rape a cleaning lady in the Olympic Village on Sunday (Aug. 7). The order was issued today (8).

Reportedly, Junias grabbed and kissed the cleaning worker while she was tidying up his bedroom. He was detained and taken to the Bangu Penitentiary Complex, in western Rio de Janeiro.

Jonas Junias, who fights in the light welterweight class (under 64kg), is slated to face Frenchman Hassan Amzile Thursday.

This is the second case of rape involving boxers and cleaning ladies within the Olympic Village area.

Last week, police jailed boxer Hassan Saada from Morroco, also suspected of raping two cleaning workers.
