Eighth death from monkeypox confirmed in Brazil
The 33-year-old man with comorbidities died in Minas Gerais state

Brazil’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday (Oct. 25) confirmed the eighth death caused by monkeypox in the country. The case was reported in Minas Gerais state. The patient was a 33-year-old man who lived in Divinópolis, with comorbidities. He was hospitalized in state capital Belo Horizonte and passed away on Saturday (22).
According to state health authorities, a fourth death, still under investigation, may have been caused by the disease.
So far, the country has confirmed 9,026 cases of the disease.
