In a press conference, health officials showed the evolution of the pandemic in the country, pointing at a stability in the death curve and an increase in the curve of confirmed cases.
The figures include another 20,229 cases of the disease, bringing the total number of infected people to 1,623,284.
The number of recovered cases stands at 906,286, or 56.5 percent of infected people.
The lethality rate of COVID-19 (number of deaths divided by the total amount of cases) was reported at 4.1 percent, whereas mortality (obits in every 100 thousand people) was 29.4. The incidence (amount of cases divided by the population) is 712.3.
However, health authorities argue the country has reached a plateau—where the curve defined by the number of deaths begins to stabilize.
