The Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, announced a new call for professionals for the Mais Médicos (“More Doctors”) program, offering 3,184 vacancies. The announcement was made on Monday (Jul. 1), in X.

"When we took office, there were fewer than 13,000 doctors in the program. Today, we have around 25,000," said the minister on social media.

In her posts, Nísia Trindade stated that the new public notice will help fill vacancies to reach the target of 28,000 doctors.

"Mais Médicos is a reality and significantly impacts Family Health programms, enabling extended opening hours. In Bahia state, for example, we already have 80 percent coverage," she noted.

Quotas

The Health Minister emphasized that, for the first time, the public notice will adhere to a quota policy. "We have allocated 20 percent of vacancies for ethnic-racial groups and 9 percent for people with disabilities, reflecting our commitment to inclusion. Let's spread the word about this announcement! Many doctors are eagerly awaiting this opportunity," she added.
