Brazil back on women's podium at Saint Silvester international race

Brazil's Nubia de Oliveira Silva managed to reach the podium of the traditional Saint Silvester international road race in São Paulo, coming in third place with a time of 53:24. She overtook Tanzanian athlete Anastazia Dolomongo, who completed the race in 53:29. Brazil had not finished in the top three since 2021.
The race was won by Kenyan Agnes Keino, who finished with a time of 51:25. Second place went to fellow Kenyan Cynthia Chemweno, who completed the race in 52:11.
Brazil has not topped the Saint Silvester podium since 2006, when Lucélia Peres claimed the title.
First held on December 31, 1925, the race was only interrupted in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
