The area covers over 1 mi km² between Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. Losses include 9.1 mi hectares of native grassland. In Brazil, the biome is the second most de-characterized.

Lula wishes success to new Argentine government

Several Latin American presidents congratulated the ultra-rightist Javier Milei, from the Liberdad Avanza coalition. He defeated current Economy Minister Sergio Massa by 55% to 44% of the vote, amid inflation that reached 142% in 12 months.
