Only the top two teams in the group stage will advance to the Libertadores Round of 16. The third-placed team will compete in this year's Copa Sudamericana.
There are seven Brazilian teams in the competition. Current Libertadores champion Flamengo is in Group A, which also includes Racing (Argentina), Aucas (Ecuador), and Ñublense (Chile).
Del Valle's goalkeeper Ramírez shone, saving Arrascaeta's penalty. For the Ecuadorian team, Faravelli, Hoyos, Previtali, Schunke and Landázuri beat goalkeeper Santos to secure the title.
Flamengo showed a better technical quality, however they had difficulties towards Al Hilal, a disciplined team that took advantage of spaces given by the opponents.
The Brazilian and Saudi teams play at 4 p.m. (Brasília time). If Flamengo win, they will be only one game away from winning the Club World Championship for the second time, after 42 years.
