The greenhouse gases emitted at all stages of the carbon-neutral Petrobras Podium gasoline’s cycle will be fully offset by measures to preserve or restore forests in Brazilian biomes. The high-performance fuel is also said to enhance vehicle performance.
The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation announced the first steps toward the Fifth National Communication, the Biennial Update Report, and the Biennial Transparency Reports for the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The president of the National Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Attorney General of the Republic Augusto Aras, said that the agreement will help in promoting solutions to environmental problems, with the expanded use of technology.
Brazil’s Environment Minister mentioned a study by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), according to which the world needs to invest $150 trillion in the next 30 years if it is willing to meet the targets of the Climate Agreement signed in Paris in 2015 and keep global warming in check.
“Among the necessary measures to meet this goal, I mention the commitment to eliminate illegal deforestation by 2030, with the full and prompt application of our Forest Code", said the president.
