Kleber Mendonça Filho’s film has downtown Recife city as the main character, revisited through great movie theaters that served as spaces of conviviality in the 20th century. The film had been shortlisted from among 28 Brazilian productions.
The movie The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão, by Brazilian director Karim Aïnouz, beat 11 other films Tuesday (27) and will represent Brazil in the race for the an Oscar, the award granted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, in Los Angeles.
