Petrobras CEO Roberto Castello Branco said the estimated financial losses stemming from corruption at the state-controlled oi giant have been underrated. He was referring to the 2014 report on the amounts siphoned off.
Vice-President-Elect Hamilton Mourão said Monday (Nov. 19) that the future government plans to preserve Petrobras’s “core”, but with possible negotiations in sectors such as distribution and refinement.
Economist Roberto Castello Branco is likely to take the helm of Brazil’s state-controlled oil giant Petrobras after being tapped by Paulo Guedes, future minister of the Economy (expected to encompass the current ministries of Finance, Planning Industry, and Foreign Trade).
