A positive result was recorded in all five major groups of economic activities and in 26 of the 27 Brazilian states. The exception was Rio Grande do Sul, down 2,129 formal jobs.
In absolute numbers, job openings added up to 206,697. Services hired the most, followed by manufacturing and construction. Trade posted a negative balance.
Result is 11.8% above the February 2020 (pre-pandemic) level and reaches the new highest point in the historical series, surpassing November 2014.
The estimate for the increase in the gross domestic product (GDP) reflects the expansion in employment, the performance of services and the rise in the investment rate.
The growth in the second quarter was influenced by the 1.3 percent increase in service sector. Services are weighing 70 percent in the economy, so there is a greater impact on this result.
