Brazil created 142,702 new formal jobs in July

Brazil created 142,702 new jobs in July. Under services alone, 56,303 posts were created. In commerce, the balance increased by 26,744 jobs. The positive balance in construction was 25,423, while industry stood at 21,254.
Year to date (January–July), 1,166,125 jobs were created.
The figures were released Wednesday (Aug. 30) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. A positive result was recorded in all five major groups of economic activities and in 26 of the 27 Brazilian states. The exception was Rio Grande do Sul, down 2,129 formal jobs. The country was reported to have 43,610,550 formal posts in July.
An increase of 43,947 new formal jobs was recorded for women and 98,755 for men. In terms of race, “employment in July was positive for brown people (75,918), white people (15,919), black people (13,035), people of Asian descent (720), and indigenous people (311),” the ministry stated.
