External accounts show $3.076 billion deficit in September
The balance of Brazil's current account transactions, which comprise all goods and services exchanged between the country and the world, stood at a negative $3,076 billion in September, and showed a $49.362 billion deficit in the first nine months of the year. Figures were made public Friday (Oct. 23) by the Central Bank.
Last month, services (international travel, transport, insurance, etc.) registered a gap of $2.913 billion. As for primary income (profits and dividends, interest payments and salaries), the deficit amounted to $3 billion. Secondary income (dollar donations and remittances, with no services or goods traded) in turn, showed a good performance—a positive $207 million—as did the balance of trade (exports and imports), with $2.630 billion.
