Brazil creates 324.1 thousand formal jobs in November
Brazil generated 324,112 job openings in November this year—the difference between 1,772,766 admissions and 1,448,654 layoffs in the formal market. Year to date, the positive balance stands at 2,992,898 new workers. The figures were released today by the country’s Ministry of Labor and Social Security as part of its Monthly Statistics on Formal Employment.
Active workers in Brazil’s formal labor market totaled 41,551,993 in November, up 0.79 percent from the previous month.
This is the year’s third best-performing month for the creation of formal jobs, Labor Minister Onyx Lorenzoni noted, preceded by February’s 389,679 and August’s 375,284 new openings.
In absolute terms, the states with the highest leap in November were São Paulo, with 110,198 job posts (0.86%); Rio de Janeiro, with 35,654 openings created (1.10%); and Minas Gerais, with 24,035 (0.55%). States with the lowest results are Acre, with 978 job openings (1.09%); Amapá, with 971 (1.39%); and Roraima, with 413 (0.67%).
Across the country, the average salary upon admission in November 2021 stood at BRL 1,778.84. Compared to the previous month, the pay is down a real BRL 31.70, 1.75 percent.
