Today (26) President Jair Bolsonaro sanctioned Bill No. 31, which guarantees funds of R$ 135 million to pay for training grants for basic education teachers. The funds will be allocated to the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (Pibid) and the Pedagogical Residency program, in addition to other actions aimed at basic education, such as the National Plan for Training Basic Education Teachers (PARFOR) and the Master's Program Professional for Basic Education Teachers (ProEB).

“Transforming the bill into law means peace of mind for thousands of fellows. For the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), this is what was needed for us to close 2021, honoring the commitments with the training of teachers for basic education”, said Cláudia Queda de Toledo, president of the institution. "We are committed to recomposing the budget so that, by the year 2022, we will be able to pay everything on time and without the need for additional credits," he said.

The funds guarantee the payment of scholarships for the programs until December 2021. The money complements the amounts authorized by Law No. 14,241 of 2021, sanctioned last Monday (22) and which was allocated for the payment of scholarships for the month of September and October.
