Brazil men's volleyball team premiered with victory in the third and final week of the first phase of the League of Nations, with a game in Osaka (Japan). This Wednesday (6th), the Brazilians beat Germany by three sets to one (25/27, 25/17, 25/20 and 25/19), in a duel for the eighth round.

This sixth victory in the competition, being the fourth in a row, kept Brazil in the classification zone to the quarterfinals, scheduled for the 20th to 23rd of this month, in Bologna (Italy).

The team led by Renan dal Zotto, current champion, remained in sixth position, with 18 points. The top eight advance to the next stage.

"After a week of travel and training, we started a little slow in the match, but the important thing is that we got the positive result and the three points to take another step towards qualifying for the finals", said pointer Yoandy Leal, highlight of the match with 21 points, to the website of the Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV).

Brazil returns to the court on Thursday (7), at 6 am (Brasilia time), against Canada. On Friday (8), at 3:40 am, the match will be against France. On Sunday (10), at 7:10 am, the Brazilians end the first phase of the League facing the Japanese hosts.

"Today [Wednesday 6th] we face a team with more physical strength. Tomorrow [Thursday 7th], we will have an opponent that makes fewer mistakes, that each point needs to be conquered. They play with faster balls, very technical and that has been causing difficulties for all teams who faced them", projected Renan, also in a statement to the CBV website.
