Brazilian judoka Beatriz Souza wins gold medal at Warsaw Open

Brazilian judoka Beatriz Souza, current world vice-champion – category heavyweight (over 78 kilos), won the title of the Warsaw Open (Poland). In the tournament final on Sunday (Feb. 26), the athlete - number 5 in the world - confirmed her favoritism and beat Chinese Xu Shiyan (10th).
Beatriz Souza spent the last four months recovering from an elbow injury and made her 2023 season debut at the Warsaw Open.
Before qualifying for the final, the Brazilian beat three other opponents: Maria Hoellwart (Austria), Saba Hawa Camara (France), and Kinga Wolsczak (Poland).
