Brazil's surf team for the 2024 Olympic Games to be held in Paris (France) has confirmed its first representative: Tatiana Weston-Webb. The classification was announced on Tuesday (Apr. 18) by the International Surfing Association (ISA). Portuguese Teresa Bonvalot, French Johanne Defay and Costa Rican Brisa Hennessy have also been confirmed in the competition.

The 26-year-old athlete will be representing Brazil for the second time in the Olympic Games, this time in the waves of Teahupo'o, located in Tahiti. She previously participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which marked the debut of surfing as an Olympic sport.

"I am preparing myself and I will give my best, for sure. Representing our flag fills me with pride! Let the Olympics come," stated Tati Weston-Webb through the press office of the Brazilian Olympic Committee.

Tati Weston-Webb's spot on the surfing team has brought the number of confirmed representatives for Brazil in the 2024 Games to a total of 20. In addition to Weston-Webb, the women's soccer team and shooter Philipe Chateaubrian, in the 10-meter air pistol, have also secured their spots.
