The Brazilian national team will face Colombia at 9:45 p.m. (Brasília time) this Thursday (Mar. 20) at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília, in a 2026 World Cup South American Qualifier match.

Occupying 5th place in the standings with 18 points, Brazil will face 4th-place Colombia (19 points) knowing that a win is crucial to closing the gap with leaders Argentina (25 points). The Argentinians will be Brazil’s next opponent on Tuesday (25) at the Monumental de Nuñez in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“They’re two crucial games, and we’re taking it one match at a time. The most important is Colombia, given the standings. We want to start strong, secure three points, and then focus on Argentina. We know we perform better here, where there’s more space, so we’re aiming for two good games and a positive outcome,” said coach Dorival Júnior.

There were expectations that Neymar could return to the national team for the match against Colombia, but the Santos No. 10 was sidelined due to a left posterior thigh muscle injury. “Regarding Neymar, it’s natural to focus a lot on one player. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out because of an injury. We have to respect that and hope for his speedy recovery,” said the coach.
