Dutch fans once again to take their joy and excitement to the stadiumJosé Cruz/Agência Brasil

At the Castelão Stadium, in Fortaleza, the Netherlands will face Mexico, at 1 pm (UTC-3). Costa Rica, in turn, will play Greece at the Arena Pernambuco, in Recife, at 5 pm.

The Dutch, hailed as favorites, with three victories in the first stage and the largest goal tally in the competition, boast the skills of Sneijer, Robben and Van Persie. Mexicans, on the other hand, have such talents as Giovanni dos Santos, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández and goalkeeper Ochoa. Also, equipped with an efficient defence, the Latin Americans might make things complicated for the Europeans.

Costa Rica vence Uruguai

Costa Rica's squad was one of the greatest surprises in the tournamentSergei Grits/AP/Direitos Reservados

Costa Rica, one of the greatest surprises in the tournament, is rooted for as the favorite for this match, after a remarkable first-phase performance. With only one goal conceded so far, the Central American team has proved balanced, with a good defense and offensive maneuvers that seek to seize all opportunities presented. As for Greece, their dangerous offensive countermoves are among the greatest weapons if they are trying to surprise fans. For that purpose, they have midfielder Samaris and strikers Samaras and Salpingidis.

Results thus far have rendered the 2014 World Cup both surprising and revealing: giants are no longer that gigantic, and teams previously seen as minor squads have showed the world the most delightful duels. One thing is for certain, though: today, two more countries advance as two will be sent packing.
