Brazil's Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes on Monday (Jul. 25) denied speculations that Federal Police are investigating another group for planning terrorist attacks for the Rio 2016 Olympics. “There is no evidence of another group effectively planning attacks at this time,” he said.

According to Moraes, the group arrested last week is the only such group identified by intelligence forces. Apart from that, he said, the government is monitoring people that visit suspicious websites.

“We are monitoring a hundred people, but there's no evidence of any conspiratorial activity. Anyone that visits a website that incites terrorism will become a potential intelligence target of the security forces. But it does not follow that they are planning [to make] anything [wrong].”

During the final inspection of the airport security arrangements ahead of the Olympic Games at Brasília airport, the minister said he is going to introduce software developed by Federal Police for the Olympics with an INTERPOL database to check anyone that has issues [with INTERPOL].
