Brazilian population reaches 213.3 mi in 2021

The Brazilian population reached 213.3 million on July 1, 2021, according to an estimate made by the government’s statistics agency IBGE. Last year, Brazil was home to 211.7 million people.

The estimated growth of the population from 2020 to 2021 was 0.74 percent, as per IBGE data. Reported as the most populous states are São Paulo (46.65 million), Minas Gerais (21.41 million), and Rio de Janeiro (17.46 million).

The country has three states with fewer than 1 million inhabitants: Roraima (652.7 thousand), Amapá (877.6 thousand), and Acre (906.9 thousand).
