TV Brasil stands firm as country’s fifth most watched TV channel
Late last year (Dec. 20), TV Brasil launched its summer schedule, bringing a number of impressive ratings in January and earning the channel the fifth place among more than 95 broadcasters listed on Brazil’s National Television Panel, or PNT, Kantar IBOPE Media reported.
The ranking confirms the ongoing interest in the current program selection. Over 18.3 million viewers followed TV Brasil’s January schedule, considering figures from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, Curitiba, the Federal District, Goiânia, Campinas, Belém, Vitória, Manaus, and Florianópolis.
Programs
Among the highlights on the grid is soap opera A Escrava Isaura, on air at 8 pm Monday through Saturday. The plot follows the challenges facing slave Isaura (Bianca Rinaldi) and the whims and fancies of Leôncio (Leopoldo Pacheco).
At prime time, documentary series Brasil Visto de Cima is on at 9 pm Tuesday through Friday. The show takes viewers to widely known landmarks from north to south of Brazil, but also unveils the wonders of spectacular spots still unfamiliar to most Brazilians. The production is still networked Monday through Friday at 4 in the afternoon. On Sunday, the broadcast starts at 6 pm.
The Cine Retrô session, featuring Brazilian film classics, was also given a new timetable—Monday at 10:30 pm, and Saturday at 6 pm. The strip includes hits from the Os Trapalhões franchise as well as classics starring personalities like Amácio Mazzaropi, Grande Otelo, Ankito, and Dercy Gonçalves, also broadcast on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 and on Sundays at 4 pm.
Beloved among the little ones, kids’ show Detetives do Prédio Azul has two airing times. Children may enjoy the adventures of the trio of young investigators from Monday to Friday at both 11 am and 1:30 pm—the former showing an episode from season two, the latter an engrossing story from season ten.
