Visitors on news portal Agência Brasil can now listen to audio versions of stories. The new feature was launched in late June and is now available on both desktop and mobile browsers. All published texts are automatically converted into audio—in Portuguese, English, as well as Spanish.

The feature can be seen above the news text and can be activated with a single click. In addition to choosing several reading speeds, visitors can download an mp3 file so they can share and listen to it whenever and wherever they want.

The change aims to expand accessibility, helping the visually impaired as well as those who have difficulty reading.

With the new feature, Agência Brasil follows the online trend of making written text available in audio form so users can listen to the articles while busy doing other activities.
