The visa requirement for tourists from Canada, Australia, and the United States visiting Brazil will be enforced starting January 10. Although initially slated for October 1, 2023, the deadline for implementation has been extended.

The Ministry of Tourism emphasized in a statement that tourists from the three countries arriving in Brazil until January 9 are exempt from presenting a visa.

According to the ministry, adjustments were necessary in the bidding process to hire the company that will provide the electronic visa service for the three countries. The ministry stated in a release, "The new decree will be published as soon as it has been finalized."

"The Brazilian government is renewing its interest in negotiating visa exemption agreements with the three nations based on the principles of reciprocity and equality between countries," the statement emphasized.
