Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the opening of two consular posts to improve emergency assistance mechanisms for Brazilian citizens seeking to leave Ukraine. The offices shall issue travel documents and help Brazilians to be orderly and safely removed from the Ukrainian territory.

One of the posts will be in Lviv - close to the border with Poland - a country where most Brazilians are heading for. The other is in Moldova’s capital Chisinau. This office shall assist Brazilians seeking to leave Ukraine through Romania, due to the conflict with Russia.

Emergency cases

“Due to the deterioration of the security situation in Kiev, embassies of several other countries have also established support missions outside the Ukrainian capital, especially in Lviv,” a note released by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday (March 1) reads.

In cases of emergency, the Brazilian consular duty can be contacted by phone number +55 61 98260-0610. The embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, continuously discloses guidance through messages on its website, on Facebook and Telegram, stated the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
