Brazil has been invited to co-chair a working group during the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, organized by the United Nations and scheduled for June.

Alongside Senegal, Brazil will lead the discussion on promoting respect for international law on the matter.

Eight working groups have convened as part of the preparatory process. Both the groups and the conference are open to all member states and representatives of the UN system—including programs, funds, specialized agencies, and regional commissions, as well as the Bretton Woods institutions.

According to the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Relations, all UN member states are being consulted simultaneously by the eight working groups and will participate in the work on a voluntary basis. No decision has yet been made as to which countries will take part in the groups.
