Brazil's interim President Michel Temer regretted the shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida which left more than 100 people dead or wounded. “I greatly regret the tragedy in the United States that made dozens of American victims. I express Brazil's solidarity with the families of the victims of this attack,” Temer wrote on his Twitter account.

At least 50 people died and 53 were injured. Orlando Police Chief John Mine referred to this as “one of the worst mass shootings in US history.” The perpetrator of the attack was identified as Omar S. Mateen, who worked as a security guard and was a US citizen, the son of Afghan immigrants.

Brazil's suspended President Dilma Rousseff also deplored the attack on the gay nightclub in Orlando. “We are experiencing terrible times, times of prejudice and intolerance which take human lives,” she said. On Twitter, Rousseff expressed her feelings to the victims' families, to US President Barack Obama and the people of the United States.
