As has been the case for all of his future cabinet members, Brazil’s President-Elect Jair Bolsonaro used his Twitter account to confirm the future appointment of Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas as infrastructure minister. The new ministry will encompass air, land, and water transport.

De Freitas was named executive director of the National Department for Transport Infrastructure in mid-2011, after an “ethical clean-up” was carried out by then President Dilma Rousseff in the agency, which was going through a crisis led by corruption allegations.

The future minister is a civil engineer and worked aS such in the Brazilian Engineering Company in the Peace Mission to Haiti.
