More Doctors to welcome medics graduated overseas
Brazil’s Ministry of Health decided to allow Brazilian and foreign medics not registered in the country to submit applications under the More Doctors program.
Applicants may send the required documentation from December 11 to 14. Friday (Dec. 7) is the deadline for national applications.
A set of 17 documents are required, among them proof of recognition of the university from a diplomatic body in the country where the diploma was issued.
By Thursday (6), the initiative had seen 35,716 applications, filling 98.6 percent of the 8,517 posts made available, which represents 8,402 agents sent to their designated working locations. Of this total, 3,949 doctors have reported to their selected municipalities. The doctors have up to December 14 to report in their designated cities.
