Brazil reports 175.2 thousand deaths, 6.48 million cases of COVID-19

Approximately 5.7 million people have recovered from the disease

In Brazil, the total number of deaths from the novel coronavirus reached 175,270 on Thursday (Dec. 3). In 24 hours, 755 new deaths were reported. Deaths under investigation now total 2,174, as per data from the country’s Ministry of Health.

The number of COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic 6,487,084. From Wednesday to Thursday, health authorities added 50,434 new positive diagnoses to the statistics.

According to the official update, there are 586,804 patients being monitored. Another 5,725,010 people have recovered from the disease.

States

São Paulo is the state with the highest death toll (42,637), followed by Rio de Janeiro (22,891), Minas Gerais (10,187), Ceará (9,657) and Pernambuco (9,098).

Those with the lowest death counts are (730), Roraima (739), Amapá (819), Tocantins (1,173), and Rondônia (1,586).
