The sending of information was agreed at a meeting on May 25 between the institute and Anvisa, which will now proceed with the evaluation of the request.
In case the request is granted by Brazil’s drug regulator Anvisa, Coronavac may be the first vaccine against coronavirus authorized for children from 3 years onwards.
The decision was unanimous. In all, five directors voted for the authorization.The dose was banned for immunosuppressed children and adolescents.
The information is contained in the first edition of the bulletin on the effectiveness of vaccines against covid-19 in the Brazilian population, from the Vigivac project by Fiocruz, published on the 9th.
