For the Ministry of Finance Fernando Haddad, the expectation towards Brazil is high, given its return to the international scene and the country's leadership in the next major summits.
In his first meeting with all cabinet members, the president pledged to be honest with Brazilians. Despite divergences, he added, the team should aim for the common good.
Another 13 cabinet members should be unveiled next week. In all, there will be 37 ministries, as had been indicated by future Chief of Staff Rui Costa.
The names of the remaining ministers should be announced later this week, following Lula and vice-President–elect Geraldo Alckmin’s certification ceremony.
The departure date, stipulated in the 2022 electoral calendar, allows those who left their posts to run for public office in the next October elections.
