Investigations indicated that they were killed by traffickers in the community with authorization from a head of a faction that controls drug sales in the region.
Of the 9,542 inquiries analyzed, 3,218 were homicides caused by firearms, of which 162 were against children up to 11 years old, says the Public Defender of Rio.
Operation fulfills warrants in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso do Sul. Money laundering and crimes against financial institutions are investigated.
