São Paulo state govt sanctions BRL 317 billion budget for 2023

São Paulo state government has sanctioned its budget for 2023. It stands at BRL 317 billion, which is 10.7 percent higher than in 2022.
BRL 49.5 billion of the total budget are allocated to the Department of Education, including funds for the implementation of full-time teaching.
The budget is a mandatory document that estimates the revenue and sets the expenses for the fiscal year, i.e., it shows how the government will raise and spend public funds. With this amount, São Paulo will have the largest state budget in the country next year.
