On Sunday morning (Feb. 11), at the World Aquatics Championships being held in Doha (Qatar), Brazil's 4x100-meter freestyle relay teams secured qualification for the next edition of the Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris (France) in 2024.

According to World Aquatics (International Swimming Federation) regulations, teams that win medals at the World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, and those that achieve one of the 13 best times at the World Championships in Fukuoka and Doha will qualify for the Paris Games.

After Sunday's finals, both Brazilian teams secured one of the 13 best times, earning their spots in Paris. The women's team finished 6th in Doha with a time of 3 minutes and 40.56 seconds. Earlier in Fukuoka, Ana Vieira, Maria Fernanda Costa, Stephanie Balduccini, and Aline Rodrigues had achieved a qualifying time of 3 minutes and 38.99 seconds.

"We tried to do better. We're happy to reach the final and we managed to secure Brazil's place in Paris," said Ana Carolina Vieira.

The men's team did not compete in Doha, but their performance in Fukuoka secured their place. Guilherme Caribé, Marcelo Chierighini, Felipe Souza, and Victor Alcará clocked 3 minutes and 13.82 seconds, placing them among the 13 best times.
