Actor, cultural producer and director Luiz Carlos Miele, aged 77, died Wednesday (Oct. 14) at his home in Rio de Janeiro. His body was found by firefighters, who had received a sudden illness call.

São Paulo-born Miele started his career in Rio de Janeiro in the 50s as an announcer at radio stations Nacional, Excelsior, and Tupi before moving on to television. He produced a number of TV shows and concerts for such famous singers like Roberto Carlos, Wilson Simonal, and Sergio Mendes.

Early in his career, Miele worked alongside his friend Ronaldo Bôscoli, with whom he organized the bossa nova concert at Beco das Garrafas. Together, they produced the show O Fino da Bossa, hosted by Elis Regina and Jair Rodrigues, on TV Record, in the 60s. Miele also directed concerts for many other artists. In the following decades, he worked at several TV stations, such as TV Globo and the former TVE, now EBC's TV Brasil.

On the big screen, he starred in films like As Aventuras de Agamenon, o Repórter (“the adventures of Agamenon, the reporter”) and Os Penetras (Party Crashers). His last role was in the feature film Depois de Você (“after you”) expected to be released on 2016.
