Brazil maintains low humidity alert for 17 states

Brazil´s National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has maintained the orange alert for low humidity across 17 states in four different regions of the country, where relative humidity levels have ranged from 12 percent to 20 percent.

Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas, and Espírito Santo are among the states under a yellow alert due to potential risks associated with low humidity.

After over a hundred days without rain, the federal capital experienced its driest day of the year on Tuesday (Sep. 3), with humidity plummeting to 7 percent. No rain is expected in the city for the coming days.
